Inspiration comes with a little green leaf and absolute freedom of a sea gull. It comes with beautiful impressionism paintings and fresh chilly mountain winds. It comes with a cup of coffee and a long walk along Montreal streets...

Rose Clay & Lemongrass essential oil

And once again French Rose Clay :-) With lemongrass essential oil this time.

First time I tried salted water for the lye solution. Was interesting :-) My feeling is that it made soap harder (even when I used approximately one tea spoon per 2 kilo of oils. But (as Jen @
Jenora Soaps said) the thin trace phase staid foooooorever... :-)

Shea Butter + French Rose Clay

The same oil blend as in the previous soap (with 40% of Shea butter in the recipe). Love its leather and smoothness :-) And the scent -- mmmmm! Litsea Cubeba is one of my personal favorite essential oils.

This one was made with organic carrot juice, poppy seeds and wonderful yummy blend of citrus essential oils.

New soap :-) Salty!

Hi there! It's been such a long time -- hello, my crafty journal! The first posting in this year :-)

Just for start here is a picture of new guest soap that was created from Aloe Vera cold process soap left-overs. I re-batched it, added Sea Salt and lavender essential oil. Love the result -- it looks like a sea stone during usage (like coquina, or something similar). It has such an interesting texture!

Have a pleasant soap-making! :-)

Guest Soap

Some time ago I made a batch of guest soap just for family usage (with sweet and spicy "Marrakesh" fragrance oil). I have lots of these fragrance testers from Bramble Berry so I wanted to try them out (not in soap for sale of course, only for my small hand/guest soaps). And it turned out very nice -- wasn't tricky to use in my cold process and has great smell in soap (strong enough as I added lot of this fragrance)  :-)

And just can't choose a picture :-) So uploaded all of them:

Oh, yes! A Winter Holiday Theme! :-)

Carrot & Citrus

Shea butter and some soap

Today I received a new 5 lb. bunch of Shea butter :-) I'm so glad I can repeat my "Sweet Rose" recipe plus make something new with this wonderful butter. By the way it's white this time :-)

And here is "Sweet Rose" from previous "collection" :-)

This soap is made with Shea butter, Olive oil, Coconut oil, Grape seed oil, Rose Kaolin clay and essential oils.

It's in a mold right now :-)

Liquid Soap

Liquid soap is something wonderful! If you've never tried it -- you definitely should!
I love this kind of soap because of its shiny clarity and amazing golden amber hue. Also it's really easy to customize every jar of it -- just need to add different essential oils (and maybe spices, clays, herbs, etc) and in 5 minutes it's something new. No need to create the whole bunch :-)

Here is my Liquid Castile Soap

Hot Process stages :-)
I love to prepare hot process soap after the soap mass stabilized (between few hours and 1 day). It's much easier for me as I don't expect any surprises such as "cottage cheese" frustration :-)

Here you can see the second-day soap mass right after I put it in a double boiler.
